Student Nurse Intake 2018 - Bursary

Are you interested in pursuing a nursing career? Gauteng Department of Health has a great opportunity for you to further your studies in the field you love the most. The government of South Africa in Gauteng understands the value of education in the youth and it aims at creating more opportunities with a bursary for nursing in 2018.

The Student Nurse Bursary for 2018 aims at giving potential students peace of mind in terms of finance and focus more on their studies and career. Applicants are welcome to apply for the bursary to study toward the Diploma of Nursing in 2018 at the following selected Gauteng Nursing Colleges.

To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet the institutions requirements criteria. Students must be a South Africa citizen residing in Gauteng with a valid ID and proof of residential address. They must also provide their latest valid school certificate such as a Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate or National Vocational Certificate Primary Health. As you may have already know, you will not qualify for the bursary if at school you were studying certain subjects such a accounting and economics. You need to have subjects like physical sciences, life sciences and life orientations.

Applicants also need to bring some level of competency and attributes when they are shortlisted. They must at least have problem solving  abilities, patience with people, love for people, leadership ability, flexibility, a sense of humor, honesty, compassionate, communication, life skills and many more.

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a compulsory assessment and an interview. Successful candidates will be required to sign the bursary contract, attend lectures, prepared to work shifts and so on.

Applications must be submitted no later than the 16 May 2017.
